The BIG Awards (UK residents only)
The BIG Awards 2013 is the second edition of the open innovation competition to discover the best high tech, emerging and early stage start-ups across the UK, as part of the British Innovation Gateway (BIG) program.
Cisco conducts five annual BIG i-Prize competitions as a mechanism for discovering and stimulating hi-tech innovation across the UK – specifically targeting early stage “start-ups” and focusing on global mega trends such as Internet Of Things (IOT), Big Data, Collaboration and Mobility.
The inaugural BIG Awards 2012 saw over 300 entries – from individuals with a clever idea, to start-ups with fully formed business plans. Snap Fashion won over the judges with its potential to wow the fashion world with its clever photo tracking functionality. Six months after winning the BIG Awards, Snap Fashion reached 100,000 users, works with 170 retailers and have plans of international expansion. Jenny Griffiths, CEO and founder has been in Wired magazine this month and been nominated as one of the top 25 women in IT in the UK. Take a peek at her video blog.
Here is the chance to get recognition and win $200,000 as well as 12 months of mentoring from Cisco and partners.
Who can participate? The competition is open for UK citizens or permanent residents aged 18 years and older. View full contest details
