Systems Engineer Manager (SEM)
Job Description
The SEM is an emerging senior leader providing technical direction, and business guidance to the regional sales team. Under the direction, and in cooperation with the Sales Manager, the SEM is guiding the day-to-day sales process and demand generation activities to help reach revenue goals. The SEM applies his/her exposure, technical experience, and business knowledge to the development of the technical business plan, and mentors others on resource planning. He/She has an effective partnership with Sales Managers, and Senior Management.The SEM identifies customer/industry trends and drives the customer satisfaction programs by defining longer term strategies, plans, and initiatives for his/her own territory.
The SEM proactively develops and maintains a high performing technical team of SEs, and increases the level of technical skills for the customer community through consistent education, specialization and certification strategies. This role also includes supporting and strengthening employee morale, career development and growth; while maintaining business goals, momentum, and continuity. The SEM leverages solid business relationships and cross-functional organizations to achieve business goals, and take a leadership role in driving collaboration in cross-functional initiatives. The SEM also identifies and shares best practices, and mentors other SEs and SEMs on these practices.
