Job Description

An SE II should be a highly regarded technical leader, both within the account team and company for which he/she works. He/She should have a level of visibility from inside and outside of the company that recognizes his/her capability to influence customer direction and ensure technical preference within large and strategic accounts. An SE II is normally providing business level guidance to the account team or company on technology trends and competitive threats, both at a technical and business level. An SE II should be regularly communicating with senior managers inside the sales organization and providing feedback on customer requirements both now and in the foreseeable future. An SE II will lead major RFPs/RFIs and provide technical consulting skills to customers. An SE II is usually regarded as an exceptional presenter and a preferred speaker for major internal and external events.

  • Researches and creates collateral positioning the technical trends of the internetworking industry to peers and customers.
  • Develops strong relationships with customer senior management and technical decision makers, based on the role of a trusted technical advisor in area(s) of specialization.
  • 10+ years experience in markets of carried products, 3-5 years field technical sales experience working with large accounts (Service Provider or Enterprise) or territories as a Systems Engineer or equivalent. Must have a proven track record in demonstrated leadership and responsibility.
  • Performs and represents the solution design activities, effectively engages extended team for support. Assists more junior SEs with their network designs.
